Tips for Teething!

Tips for Babies Who Are Teething

1. Offer Teething Toys

Provide your baby with safe, soft teething toys that are designed to soothe sore gums. Look for options made from silicone or rubber.

2. Cold Compress

Chill a clean washcloth or teething toy in the refrigerator. The cold can help numb the gums and reduce inflammation.

3. Massage Gums

Gently rub your baby’s gums with a clean finger. This can provide relief and comfort to your little one.

4. Use Teething Gels

Consult with your paediatrician about using teething gels that are safe for infants. These can temporarily numb the gums.

5. Keep Them Hydrated

Ensure your baby stays hydrated, especially if they are drooling more than usual during teething.

6. Monitor Diet

If your baby is eating solids, consider offering cold foods like yogurt or applesauce to soothe their gums.

7. Maintain Oral Hygiene

Even if your baby has only a few teeth, it’s important to clean their gums and teeth regularly to prevent discomfort and infections.

8. Comfort and Cuddle

Sometimes, extra comfort and attention from parents can help soothe a teething baby. Holding or rocking them can be very calming.

9. Consult a Pediatrician

If your baby seems excessively uncomfortable or if you have concerns about their teething, consult your paediatrician for advice and support.
